Rivka bat Yael Razel Update: Laughter

6 weeks following her accident, Rivka bat Yael Razel is continuing her rehabilitation at Alin Hospital, with a world-class staff of occupational therapists, physical therapists, and doctors who are working with Rivki many hours every day to aid her recovery. Rivki’s doctors are currently predicting that she will require a year of rehabilitation.

The highlights of the week for Rivki’s family were Rivki’s outburst of laughter when her mother said a silly word, and again when she heard that one of her 2 younger sisters had done something funny–sneaking into her toddler sister’s crib earlier that morning.

This laughter seems to indicate (please G-d!) that even though she appears unconscious, Rivki’s cognitive functioning is still good.

A physical therapist was telling me this week that the biggest advantage for Rivki at this point is that she is only 4 years old. The brains of young children, she explained, have amazing powers of healing and recovery that those of an older child or adult no longer possess.

Thank you for continuing to pray for a complete and miraculous recovery for Rivka bat Yael!

Thank you for keeping us updated. I am so happy to hear that she laughed and I keep praying for her full recovery. My heart is broken at the thought of her laying there unconscious in the hospital, and I hope that with the prayers from everyone around the world she is able to heal and go home soon. Please don’t stop sending us updates on her and please also let her family know how much we are praying for little Rivki and her family.
    kol tuv, Caroline

  5. Wow!! Amazing! Baruch Hashem, what hopeful news. Well, the doctors, may Hashem continue to bless them with his healing wisdom & power, said 1 year – let’s keep our prayers strong, and perhaps Hashem will make it a fraction of that time!

Thank you Chana for the updates, keep ’em coming!
