  1. While I hear what Rebbetzin Heller is saying. There is also something to be said about making sure that you are properly taking care of the children you have. That is not to say that having a big family means that you won’t be able to take care of them, but it gets harder. As someone who had a hysterectomy at the birth of my 3rd , I can say that I feel like on one level I was given the bracha of being able to devote a lot of attention to my kids (at least I try). What about being happy with what you have? Seven children is quite a nice size family.. There are those who can’t have any.

  2. I am surprised that Rebbetzin Heller didn’t say anything about how the mother of 7 should appreciate her blessings. She justified her feelings of not measuring up. Yes it is beautiful to strive for more and put a stress on how wonderful big families are, but to be deppressed? That is not healthy and does seem like “keeping up with the Cohens”
