Missiles on Way to Wedding: “A Great Victory–Establishing a Jewish Home in Israel”

The whole summer Yisrael and Rina Tvito of Netivot weren’t sure if they’d have to cancel their much-anticipated wedding or not. For weeks, ceasefires broken by Hamas alternated with sirens and missiles, and the young couple weren’t sure what to do.

But in the end, the Tvitos and their 500 guests celebrated their marriage this past Tuesday. On the way to the hall, the couple had to seek shelter from several missiles sent from Gaza, but during the wedding a final ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was declared.

The bride, Rina Tvito told Yediot Achronot, “We didn’t want to destroy our dream. In the end we had the wedding and there was a feeling of relief. This was a great victory. That we are moving forward and establishing a Jewish home in Israel.”
