When You Walk Through a Storm (2-Minute Musical Excerpt)

When You Walk Through a Storm (2-Minute Musical Excerpt)

Yesterday, for the first time ever, I did karaoke at my friend’s surprise 40th birthday party. It was so fun! Before she arrived, all the people there chose out the songs we would sing, and after looking through the names of a few hundred songs I didn’t know or didn’t know well enough to perform, I came across “When You Walk through a Storm” from the musical Carousel. Now that’s a song I know, we performed that musical when I was in highschool. Even 30 years later, just thinking of that song makes my eyes tear up. Interesting. It didn’t make me cry 30 years ago. But now it does, cause over the last few decades I’ve lived this song, several times, and I know it’s true. No matter how fierce the storm, you’ll never walk alone.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho’ your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone,
You’ll never walk alone.

  1. Thank you for coming! It was so much fun and you were great!

  2. For some reason rather than just the song – the link connected the song and the rest of the movie afterwards!
Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy your mishpocha.
