The Kaliver Rebbe zt”l: What He Promised Hashem in the Warsaw Ghetto
Yesterday, the 96-year-old Kaliver Rebbe, a survivor of Auschwitz and the Warsaw Ghetto, passed away. The Kaliver Rebbe dedicated his life to commemorating the Holocaust’s victims, and to fulfilling the promise he made to G-d when he was nearly murdered in the Warsaw Ghetto, to recite Shema Yisrael for other Jews. B”H, he lived to sing Shema Yisrael for Jewish gatherings thousands of times.
