I Married at 45 and Didn’t Dream I Could Still Get Pregnant by Leslie Gold Ruder

My story should serve as chizuk for anyone who is an “older single” awaiting the day, may it be soon, when they meet their true zivug.

I became a baalat teshuva, Baruch Hashem, around the ripe age of 39, never having done very well in the area of relationships-with-men, and then dated for nearly 7 years– frum.
I finally found my bashert, who was a widower with 4 special needs children, aged 4-9. I was happy to mother someone else’s children, and thought I’d never be blessed to have my own at that point, but – here’s the fun part – Hashem gave me my own baby right away – at the age of nearly 47, and my water broke on our first anniversary!!! This photo is of us together. She’s already such a big girl! She even drives!
So don’t EVER give up hope. Not EVER. Hashem is COMPLETELY in charge, particularly regarding shidduchum and definitely 100%, when it comes to pregnancy and birth.
May Hashem send a yeshuah to every person still waiting for theirs!

  1. Correction to headline: I’m married at 45, nearly 46, and had my baby one year and 2 days after our wedding. So I was 3 months shy of 47 when I had my baby. If you could possibly correct the headline that would be most appreciated.
