Explaining Marriage to a 4-Year-Old

EXPLAINING MARRIAGE TO A 4-YEAR-OLD
The other day, out of the blue, my 4-year-old Tsofia asked me, “Eema, who am I going to marry?”
“I don’t know, sweety…Who do you want to marry?”
Without hesitation, she responded, “Abba!”
But then, she quickly retracted. “No, I want to marry Eema!”
I smiled.
“First of all, Tsofia, you have to get married to a boy, not a girl. And second of all, you can’t marry a family member.”
Tsofia considered that for a while.
Then she said, “Eema, are you married?”
“Yes.”
“Who are you married to?”
“Who do you think?”
Tsofia figured it out…”Abba! But Eema,” Tsofia challenged me with a wise twinkle in her eye…”you couldn’t be married to Abba.”
“Why not?”
“You married a family member!”
🙂
I love it!! Hahaha
PRICELESS!
Classic!
This reminds me of the pregnancy details here in Israel they take where they ask if you are related to the child’s father, and I always want to write – yes, he’s my husband!
