Pesach Energy-Sapper of the Day: “If I Felt More Grateful I Wouldn’t be Overwhelmed”
Today’s Pesach Energy Sapper comes from Rebbetzin Esther Bayla Schwartz whose series of daily Pesach Prep Inspiration segments on the free Chazak Hotline is providing me much chizuk for the final stretch until Seder night.
In one of the classes, Rebbetzin Schwartz, who is one of my favorite speakers, told the following story which I knew I had to share…
Rebbetzin Schwartz recalled:
Many moons ago I was a young mother of 4 children under the age of 5. I cannot even express the extent to which I was drowning. Completely and totally overwhelmed.
One year, before Pesach, I went to speak with my Rebbetzin. I shared with her that I felt like I was drowning, and I felt guilty about it. There were so many thousands of women who would give ANYTHING to be in my place: to be a mother, to be a wife, to be preparing my own family’s home for Passover.
My rebbetzin just looked at me and said something I will never, ever forget. It was something that changed my life forever.
She said, “It’s true that there are countless women who would give anything to be in your place. And it’s also true that when Hashem blesses them as He has blessed you–with children and a home–then they will be overwhelmed as well.”
With blessings come stress.
Something to keep in mind….
