Mazal Tov! Terror Orphans to be Married

Mazal Tov! Terror Orphans to be Married

16 years ago, during the darkest hours of the 2nd Intifada, Avigdor Gavish’s parents, grandfather and brother were brutally murdered by an Arab terrorist who entered their home at the beginning of Passover.

4 months later, the parents and 9-year-old brother of Ayelet Dikstein were shot to death by terrorists while they were on their way to visit relatives.

At the time, despite their similar fate, Avigdor and Ayelet didn’t know each other.

But over the years, 36-year-old Avigdor and 34-year-old Ayelet got to know each other through a support group for orphans they both participated in.

And yesterday, Ayelet and Avigdor, after visiting their parents’ graves, announced their engagement to be married.

Thank G-d!

We can see Hashem’s hand in this marriage. So beautiful. The story shows that terror destroys itself, while peace-loving people, even though it has been such a difficult situation for many, can see in this union how Hashem wants and bring Shalom, not only to this holy couple, but to the Jewish people.

Thank you and thank you Chana Jenny for your inspiring website.
