The Tragedy in Meron, and a Miracle Behind the Headlines (10-Min. Video)

Rabbi Shimon Lavi, Police Commissioner Shimon Lavi, and a whisper of comfort from behind the Curtain this dark Lag BaOmer.

Here’s the original shabbat shalom video I made hours before Lag BaOmer.

Police Commissioner Shimon Lavi

The sefer Ketem Paz written by Rabbi Shimon Lavi, author of the song Bar Yochai, from the 16th century.

  1. Such an important point to know and understand and hopefully internalize for our journey in this world. BTW, I love your beautiful shawl/dress- you look very beautiful! May you and your family continue to grow in your Avodas Hashem- whatever that might be!

  2. Very powerful to contemplate the possible meaning behind the mysterious double Shimon Lavis. It feels like Rabbi Shimon Lavi, with his commitment and love for his fellow Jews in need, and with the achdus he inspires through every kind of Jew singing his famous song on Lag B’Omer is speaking to us from Meron now, the spiritual home of his dreams, through his namesake. If his legacy was ahavas yisroel and achdus, maybe that’s exactly what we’re supposed to learn to do better from this tragedy in Meron.

  3. Wow! I was looking at the news and I also noticed the same connection with the names of the commissioner and the Rabbi. Thank you for bringing some comfort in this awful tragedy. Shabbat Shalom

    Chana Jenny this is SO amazing.
    It’s so profound. It brought tears to my eyes.
    Hashem is showing His Hand, right here with us.

    For another glimpse of the light hiding just beyond the horizon, add up the numerical value of the word GEULAH:
    ג=3
    א=1
    ו=6
    ל=30
    ה=5
    ___
    45
    May these 45 holy neshomos be the last korbanos and may we all soon merit to see the light break through and all tragedy turn into Geulah with the coming of Moshiach NOW!
