Why I’m at a Water Park Now

Why I’m at a Water Park Now
I’m at a water park with my kids. To be more exact, I’m at a water park but I’m not with my kids.

I’m sitting on a bench in the shade doing my thing and my younger kids are on the water slides and splashing around in foam with their older siblings.

Every half an hour or so a foam-covered Weisberg child comes to sit with me (one just sat down next to me mid-sentencešŸ˜Š) to eat some pretzels, drink someĀ water, and to inform me how long the lines to the slides are (“It was better last year, there were no lines during corona!”)
I’d hoped to send my little kids with my big kids, with money for tickets and ice cream, so I could stay home to clean my kitchen, sort laundry and listen to a shiur or two.
And that was exactly what I suggested to my kids this very morning.
But 7-year-old Yoni said, “Eema, it’s always more fun when you’re there.”
“Why? You’ll be with the big kids! They’ll buy you ice cream!
9-year-old Yaakov clarified, “I don’t know why, but it’s always more fun when you’re around Eema…”
And this is what I heard:
You don’t need to do anything.
Say anything.
Buy anything.
Just be there.
Just be Eema.šŸ„°
