The Soldier’s Bride
This last Motsaei Shabbat, Rabbanit Yemima received a phone call from a young woman in great distress.
“My wedding is scheduled for tomorrow, but my husband’s commanders are saying he’ll have to return to the fighting right after the wedding. What terrible circumstances to get married under! How can we get married right after such a horrible tragedy for our country and people? Shouldn’t we push off the wedding until after the war?”
Rabbanit Yemima didn’t hesitate, “Definitely do not push off the wedding! These cursed terrorists launched a war against women, against children, against Jewish homes. Because that is the core of our holiness, of our people, of our eternity and strength.
“Get married, create a new family, a new home. Don’t wait even one more moment to do so! There is no possible greater, more powerful response to their attempt to destroy the Jewish people than your wedding.
