Purim 2024
This year, reading Megilat Esther is like reading the newspaper.
Then and now an evil anti-Semite attempted to take advantage of Jewish disunity (disunity then over: to feast or not to feast/disunity now over: to reform or not to reform) and tries to commit genocide against the Jewish people.
At first we Jews are terrified. Will we survive?
And then, with Hashem’s help, we fight back!
And then (this is the part of the megillah that hasn’t happened YET…)
Haman and his sons get hanged on a tree and Mordechai becomes the second in command to the King of the land and Esther’s son King Daryevesh lifts the ban on rebuilding the temple, leading to its rebuilding not long after.
And we Jews get to live in peace and unity forever after in the Diaspora and in the Promised Land.
[A segula to make that final step of the megila come true: recite the name of Haman’s mother 17 times: Amtalai bat Orvati, a segula from the Kabbalah to overcome a Soneh Yisrael, a person who hates the Jewish people. Whether his name is Haman or Sinwar or Nasrallah.
Please God, may it be soon!]
Happy Purim!
