Revealed Miracles Since October 7th by Rebbetzin Rena Tarshish

[B”H, I arrived back in Israel this morning. I am SO happy and relieved to be back home with Josh and the kids and the people of Israel. At the same time, it is undeniably jarring to move from serene American suburbia to a country facing war on one front, two fronts… maybe three fronts, more? On the flight over I listened to an incredible class by Reb. Rena Tarshish about how Israel and the Jewish people are a sheep surrounded by 70 wolves, and Hashem is the faithful Shephard that guards over us day and night. This made me feel calmer and spun around my perspective on what’s going on. Thank you Reb. Tarshish, and thank You Hashem.]

This year, we’re all feeling confusion.

On the one hand, there’s been a lot of suffering and pain, a lot of Hester Panim, the feeling that Hashem is hiding His face. We’re thinking about the Jews murdered on October 7th, about the soldiers getting killed or injured. We’re thinking about all the hostages in captivity. For over 300 days now. We can’t wrap our heads around it all. We want to say: Hashem, where are You?

On the other hand, I don’t think we’ve witnessed so many revealed miracles for an extremely long time. You almost have to be blind to say that you don’t see the miracles. I’m going to mention just a few here.

On Simchas Torah, together with the tremendous pain of so many people getting killed, there were also so many miracles.
*Approximately 3000 terrorists were on a rampage slaughtering as many Jews as possible for between 4-7 hours until the army appeared on the scene on a large scale. How is it that Hamas didn’t enter a single synagogue or yeshiva, which were filled on Simchas Torah with hundreds or even thousands of people?

Hamas knew details to the nth degree. They even knew that in a certain house, they’re not home for Shabbat. But if you want to kill a lot of people, it makes no sense. Why go from house to house murdering two, four, six, eight people when a Shul has 200 or 300. A yeshiva has 800 or 1000! Hamas actually had a plan to send 22 terrorists to massacre around 1000 people at the Tifrach yeshiva. In the end, it makes no sense, but they didn’t walk into any yeshiva or any shul, even in Beeri where they murdered so many people, they didn’t enter the synagogue which was full of people.

*Another strange thing. There were at least 3000 terrorists and thousands of missiles fired into Israel, and in the end approximately 1300 Jews were murdered, which is horrific, and more Jews killed in one day since World War II. But how is it possible that 3000 terrorists murdering everyone in their path unchecked for 4-7 hours (depending on the location), didn’t even manage to kill half a person per terrorist? It’s beyond understanding.

*Something else, do you know how many times soldiers were actually surprised by Arabs that came up to shoot them. But the Arab’s gun suddenly did not work. There are hundreds of stories like that, that they come up with the gun, and suddenly the gun does not work, and it gives the IDF soldier just enough time to pull their act together and actually shoot the terrorist first.

*Also, the story with the Iran attack from before Passover was not normal. Iran sent 331 missiles. Just to make it clear to everybody, the Iron Dome can shoot down a single enemy missile with 90% accuracy. 2 missiles, the accuracy is less. 3 missiles at once, even less. The Iron Dome CANNOT handle 331 missiles, some of them massive, being sent simultaneously. It wasn’t a joke when the Iranians said they were going to wipe out all of Israel. Did you know that 99% did not even enter Israeli airspace?

And a month later the president of Iran who’d ordered that failed missile barrage on Israel died in a helicopter crash.

*Remember the terror attack right before Pesach in Jerusalem, crowds of hundreds of adults and children burning their chametz, and the terrorists’ guns didn’t work. Afterward the police checked the guns, and they worked perfectly. And the 3 Jews who were rammed by the terrorists and thrown into the air weren’t expected to live, but in the end they were released from the hospital in time for the seder. It’s impossible.

There was a BBC interview with one of the heads of the Hamas. The BBC interviewer asked him: You’re working so many years on these missiles yet you’re missing your targets 98% of the time.
The Hamasnik answered him: I want you to know that we have it down to perfection. We should be hitting our targets 98% of the time instead of missing 98% of the time. But “the Allah of the Jews loves them, and he moves our missile to the right or to the left to miss them.”

[Thank you Hashem for loving us, please continue watching over us in these scary times.]
