The Secret Life of Gershon Burd by Sara Yocheved Rigler

Facing Pain: Don’t Let Your Comfort Zone Make Your Life Small by Sara Debbie Gutfreund

Just discovered the exceptionally entertaining and inspirational pre-Shabbos messages by Rabbi Fischel Schachter. They’re about 15 minutes long and contain the most awesome stories you’ve ever heard. You can listen to them for free on the Chazak Hotline, option 3, selection 5.

My Positive Thinking teacher Chaya Hinda Allen just quoted this ancient proverb regarding living a life with faith and trust in Hashem. What if you have full faith and trust that Hashem will save you from whatever you are struggling with...and then Hashem doesn't? Even when Hashem says "No" the journey of a life full of faith and trust in Hashem is its own reward-- you'll be happier, calmer, more successful--it's such a better way to live!

  1. I like that – the Journey is the Reward. Growing up, I always had this question — and my daughter just asked it to me last night.
“I want to trust that Hashem is in charge and is doing what’s best for me, but what if what’s best IS the bad thing? So I’m still scared.”

I have always struggled with this too. I think this line – The Journey is the Reward” and realizing that it makes us calmer and that is the reward – that’s a good way to look at it.

    Thank you!
