Thank you Chana Jenny. So many of us have been brainwashed to equate housework with drudgery. Jewish families have been building glorious homes for thousands of years, and it IS a privilege. But they don’t tell most young Jewish women that today. Thank you for your honesty and your ambivalence. I share it. 🙂
I actually enjoy housework, too! The hard thing for me personally is finding uninterrupted time to do that housework. I have 3 children, all under the age of 3. I would love to be able to do housework more regularly and also have my kids help me. Any tips? The thought of a solid uninterrupted hour to straighten up is actually quite appealing to me. My oldest boys (twins) are only 2 1/2 years old so they “help me” 🙂 if you get my meaning, just a little bit for fun here and there and I’m trying to train them. And then I have an 8 month old boy.
You know what I listen to while folding laundry? You! Then I actually look forward to folding laundry! Sometimes I feel like you process tons of parenting advice and Torah and filter it down to the rest of us. Thanks for doing all the hard work!
