Pre-Pesach: The Ugh and the Aaah

Pre-Pesach: The Ugh and the Aaah

I’ve been thinking how the days before Pesach are like the days before a woman gives birth.
Before giving birth, a woman feels heavy, uncomfortable, ugh! But if that very pregnant woman is able to switch her focus to the baby about to arrive, she feels excitement, anticipation, aaaah!
So too before Pesach. We can feel the tired and overwhelmed ugh of all the cleaning and cooking and shopping. But maybe, just maybe, we can access a whiff of excitement and anticipation, the wondrous aaaah that awaits us Seder night and beyond.

  1. Yes! Perfect analogy – as the seder is the experience of our birth!
