A year ago today my mom died from a stroke at the age of 77. I’m in Baltimore now with my family for the yahrzeit and unveiling.
I wanted to share something I haven’t shared with you until now. After Mom died I decided I wanted to take on a project for the elevation of Mom’s soul. Like me, Mom cared deeply about mothering and mothers and was passionate (as am I) about encouraging mothers and helping them to thrive and be happier people. http://JewishMOM.com.To that end, the first thing I did was hire an assistant, Chana Ximena Orozco (whom you might remember from the interview “From Soap Opera Star to Orthodox Jew”) who has become my right hand (wo)man over the course of this year.
It’s incredible for me to look back and realize the different ways JewishMOM.com, with Hashem’s help (and Chana’s!:) has grown over this past year:
*Expanding from 5 daily posts a week to 7
*Starting a new whatsapp group
*Dailing posting on Instagram
* Interviews with all sorts of inspiring people I want to meet and want YOU to meet as well!

May all of these projects continue to inspire moms and provide an elevation for the soul of Gila bat Yaakov, Gladys Arak Freedman of blessed memory. Mom, I love you and miss you very much!
