The 1929 Terror Attack that Enabled the State of Israel’s Birth by Rabbi YY Jacobson

It’s been a scary and sad week in Israel, with 10 murdered and many more injured in a series of terror attacks. My 4th grader is afraid to go to school, my soldier, walking around in an IDF uniform, feels like she has a target on her back. Hebrew University’s large population of Arab students which until this week felt like an oasis of peaceful coexistence suddenly feels dangerous to my student daughter.

So hearing this incredible story this week about the chain of events set into motion by the slaying of a young American yeshiva student’s murder in the 1929 Hevron massacre was a comforting and timely reminder that even when tragedy strikes, only Hashem can see the whole picture.
