Rav Ezrachi’s Emotional Eulogy for his Wife of 70 years
This eulogy for Rebbetzin Shulamit Ezrachi has been making shock waves across the Jewish world, from Rabbanit Yemima’s weekly class to the weekly letter from Ami Living’s editor, Rechy Frankfurter. So I decided to find out what everyone’s so worked up about and watch it for myself.
The deep distress of this esteemed Rosh Yeshiva as he calls out “Shulamit! Shulamit! This is Baruch speaking!” makes me wonder how Rav Ezrachi and his rebbetzin, a well-known educator and author, managed to build such an incredibly strong, connected marriage. This video is such an incredible testimony to the love and devotion that is attainable in marriage. And I think this video is a wake up call to be more connected to our husbands (even if we only take a microscopic step in the right direction–towards our spouses). May her memory be a blessing.
