A Mother and Father’s Love Saves Jews from Bilam’s Curses

A Mother and Father’s Love Saves Jews from Bilam’s Curses

In Parshat Balak, Bilam protests:

“How can I damn whom God has not damned?
“How can I doom when God has not doomed?
“As I see [the Jewish people] from the mountain tops,
“Gaze on them from the heights.”

Rashi comments on the phrase “I see [the Jewish people] from the mountain tops” I look at their origins and at their first roots, and see that the Jews have strong, unshakeable foundations like those rocks and mountains on account of [their] fathers and mothers.

The gift of a parent in a child’s life. Loving, guiding, laying the strong foundation for a secure and blessed life, IY”H.
