30 Years Later
When I was a student at a Christian private school 30 years ago, it was easy to forget about major Jewish holidays. I barely knew that Succot, Purim, and Shavuot even existed. My Chanukah candles dim in comparison with the bright lights of my classmates’ other holiday.
And today, after I sent my big kids off to school, took my little kids to gan, and prayed– I went to check out the American news and realized I had completely forgotten today is Christmas.
The light, the holiness of this Jewish life, a shining Sun in my heart. 30 years and a world away.
Definitely one of the things I LOVE about living here!
Wouldn’t it be nice if my family and I could live in Israel.
