Kudos to this great Mom, who came to the realization of true spirituality! I know many may dismiss her initial thinking as incorrect, since women are not required by Halacha to be involved in learning Torah, but she obviously feels the need to connect in that way. Yet, she understood that being the Mom is such a tremendous mitzvah. I compare the situation to that of Moshe Rebbenu when he was on the way to Mitzrayim, to bring the Yidden out of slavery, when he suddenly came under scrutiny for the mitzva of bros Milah. Even though he was on the way to make the Great Redemption, his personal mitzva took precedence. I think we can all come up with examples of this. Again, I feel you are setting a great example to learn from!
